Integration, exchange, and hand-over of information between all parties involved in the process industries during the entire life cycle of a plant is estimated to result in a 30% productivity improvement in engineering, construction, supply-chain, operations, and maintenance. Users of ERP systems will benefit from the fact that up-to-date and historical data is readily available. This project will provide a unique platform for companies interoperating using rapid deployment of ISO standard-based lifecycle information integration technologies by leveraging the global knowledge-base of the domain experts from the participating companies.

Owners, EPC contractors, equipment suppliers and software vendors will collaborate in this jointly funded project to create lifecycle information models based on an initial set of reference data, develop most common software tools and methodology, and gain experience in integration of lifecycle data between different software systems and different companies. The project will use the ISO standard 15926 for process industry lifecycle information integration as a basis. One major goal of this project is to establish an online Work In Progress (WIP) ISO 15926 Repository that is continuously evolving with input from the domain experts for the information models and state-of-the-art software tools and methodology.
