The FIATECH membership has recognised that two key standards ISO 15926 and ISO/PAS 16739 (BIM / IFC – Building Information Model / Industry Foundation Classes) should be given priority for interoperability as they cover two major areas of project execution for Capital Projects (process plant and buildings respectively). Both of these standards are products of the ISO Technical Committee 184.

The FIATECH ADI ISO15926-BIM-IFC is a subproject of the ADI (Accelerating the Deployment of ISO 15926) project with Adrian Laud as the lead.

The overall mapping between IFC classes will be defined by this interoperability project and the results will be sent to the ISO 15926 WIP (Work In Progress) repository so as to be globally available. The WIP can be manually browsed on the Web and directly accessed by programs.
