Java Template Browser (deprecated)

Note: this is deprecated for now - until we have time to target it to the latest data/endpoints.

The NRX Test Tool/Template Browser is an application written in Java and made available from this page here as a single downloadable .jar file - apart from Java 1.4 or better, nothing else is required to run it.

The application relies entirely on open source licensing for all components, including the source code provided by NRX. These licenses are all vetted by the Open Source Foundation, making any derived works easy to distribute in other products under a wide range of open and non-open licensing terms.

Ideas List

This is an ideas list for changes and enhancements to the existing application.

  • Fix the navigation bug from list views - allow navigation into superclasses and types etc.
  • Add template presentation; list templates in relevant classes.
  • Use the context menu to navigate from URIs into trees of data.
  • Build an OIM Path from the page history.
  • Save OIM Paths, Confederations and other information.
  • Use an OIM path to query data from a given root node (show applicable saved OIM Paths).
  • Present data in a document template.
  • Build an alternative SOAP-based transport with multiple SPARQL requests per SOAP envelope.
  • Provide "interrogator" and "end user" modes - the latter would hide the more technical parts of the interface.
