Re: Modelling Property Ranges in Part7 and Part8

Hans, Probable I've misunderstood your template ClassOfIndirectPropertyWithBoundingValues? The only difference between it and PropertyRangeMagnitudeRestrictionOfClass is an additional role hasDefined for an instance of a ClassOfIndirectProperty. As far as I understand the situation you are simultane...

Re: Modelling Property Ranges in Part7 and Part8

Hans, when I want to properly define that instance I'll record proper specialization in RDL! Then I'm satisfied with PropertyRangeMagnitudeRestrictionOfClass template. And I can not map to your template from a legacy tool, if its datamodel doesn't already contain a correct ISO 15926 property special...

Re: Modelling Property Ranges in Part7 and Part8

Keith, What is the difference between suggested template and PropertyRangeMagnitudeRestrictionOfClass already registered with URI http://tpl.rdlfacade.org/data#R57467669805 and available at http://www.iringsandbox.org/repositories/tempInitSet/query ? On your questions: These Lower and Upper Limit cl...

Re: Modelling Property Ranges in Part7 and Part8

Hans,

hasDefined role in the ClassOfIndirectPropertyWithBoundingValues - is not a good idea! If it's the situation - this ClassOfIndirectProperty should be registered in RDL separately.

Re: Class Model

Hans, [HT] Agreed, please start that new topic. I think this new topic requires systematic changes of on the typing and relationships you are touching below. I believe you have them ready? Probable you start that, and I'll add my reasons - why it doesn't really contradicts FOL view of the standard. ...

Re: Class Model

We don't have to mix this topic with general "design with classes" vs. "design with individuals" modeling question! There are some cases where we clearly need tags as classes in design (designing a "typical project" is one of the most important cases). There are other cases when we have to do class ...

Re: Class Model

Hans, 1. Why there is a ClassOfInformationRepresentation between hasTemplate and hasOIM role occupiers in CompositionOfOIM template definition? Is it not enough to say that Template Statement in hasTemplate role is connected to OIM by ClassOfCompositionOfIndividual? 2. "To the signature of each temp...

Re: Class Model

Hi! 1. Approval of this modeling approach means that we agree that a template statement can occupy a role in a template statement. I'm supporting this idea, but it has a strong opposition also, and we've to bring this discussion to the attention of a broader circle, or, probable, start a new topic f...

Re: Plant Lifecycle Data Model

At this conceptual level it will be enough to use usual three types of arrows for classification, specialization and part-whole relationships! The diagram will be much easier to read. I can not find any problems with the diagram, but I need some time to reconcile it with you description of engineeri...

Re: ClassifiedIdentificationOfClassInLanguage

The same story here - this is a specialization of ClassifiedIdentificationOfClass template and has to be clearly stated as such.
