Re: DefinitionOfClass template
Response to Victor : In case an instance of this template shows an xsd:string it complies with the template. In modeling you always have to ask yourself the question: is it absolutely IM possible that anything else than a string is being used for that definition? If the answer is NO, then you have ...

Re: Namespaces
In the context of a recent discussion about 15926-in-OWL I presented a document that you can find here: http://15926.org/publications/general-discussions/entity-type-vs-rdl-class/power-set.pdf . In that context there is a relation between the Part 2 entity types and the applicable RDL classes, but i...

Re: Life Cycle of a Class
Hi Victor,
Since the OIM is about an Object, I think 'hasObject' is somewhat more informative. OK?
I take it that the reason behind those two new templates is to allow for retroactive addition of them to existing class templates. Is that a correct assumption?
Regards,
Hans

Re: Modelling Property Ranges in Part7 and Part8
Hi Darius, Yes, that would be complex. Typically I wouldn't map incomplete data. Is your question hypothetical or based on a real-world use case? Who is supposed to act upon this incomplete information? The problem might be solved by replacing Operating Pressure Range with two templates, one for Min...

Re: Life Cycle of a Class
Hi,
I have added the possibility to deprecate any subclasses of the UrClass that are no longer applicable.
See http://www.15926.org/publications/gener ... /index.htm

Re: Modelling Property Ranges in Part7 and Part8
Hi Keith, 1) Instrument has Property Calibrated Range; Here we always have two values the max and min We did have some discussion on whether this should be Direct or Indirect so I would be interested on your reason for chosing Indirect [HT] Yes, then use http://www.infowebml.ws/TS/TS-details/Templat...

Re: Plant Lifecycle Data Model
THIS IS AN E-MAIL FROM MAGNE All, First a general comment. In the RDL we have the rule that you should always use the most specialized class that is available to you. The same rule should apply to the selection of entity types. In general I agree with Keith. As a first set of comments I have looked...

Re: Plant Lifecycle Data Model
Hi Onno, They can very well be temporal parts. In most instances they will be, although for materialized physical objects it depends where the whole-life individual is in your data base: at the plant or at the manufacturer's shop. In the template [img]PhysicalObjectManufacturedByTemporalPartOrganiza...

Re: Modelling Property Ranges in Part7 and Part8
Not so fast! First Victor : OK, your class P-101 has 100 templates related to it (not uncommon). Then you change one template. You deprecate that class P-101 and its 100 templates and recreate the 99 templates that were not changed. You keep doing so for thousands of classes, and you need a petabyte...
