Re: Modelling Property Ranges in Part7 and Part8
Hi Victor, All the temporal issues (arising from the need to enhance the model during the design time) can be resolved through ur-class specialization indeed. However the relationship (CoR) which signifies the kind of indirect property in question doesn't change. As we don't use universal or existen...

Re: Modelling Property Ranges in Part7 and Part8
Hi Victor, Tell me how you terminate a temporal part. So, for instance, you have a temporal part with a temperature of 70 degrees C, and now the next temporal part with 75. You need to end the 70C one. Unless you have automatically generated its ID you have to do some esoteric stuff to generate an I...

Re: Modelling Property Ranges in Part7 and Part8
Hi Mike, Re First Posting Could you please elaborate on "The link between the design and the individual is via this hasDefined subtype of ClassOfRelationship (also with connection, assembly, etc)."? As it's not obvious to me as well why you need that separate role (perhaps it is already obvious to V...

Template Model revisited
This topic deals with the Part 8 Template Model, that needs a few small corrections in order to allow instances of TemplateStatement to be the rdf:object for rdf:Property instances, i.e. to be a Role Filler in a template signature. The story is 7 pages long and can be seen/downloaded from http://www...

Re: Class Model
Through the regular e-mail I received this question from Pavel: 1) Could you give some examples of usage of the Class Model Template? 2) As I understand you want to use it to store historical data not only for process plants but also for RDL objects. So if we want to say if our class is deprecated -...

Re: Class Model
Dear Geiza, If you have an instance of ClassOfInformationRepresentation in the role of classOfWhole in an instance of ClassOfCompositionOfIndividual, then the classOfPart role better refers to an instance of ClassOfInformationRepresentation (or a subtype thereof) as well. Otherwise you may get nonse...

Re: Modelling Property Ranges in Part7 and Part8
Hi Victor, Assume you design vessel V-101 and use the template ClassOfIndirectPropertyWithPointValue in order to state that its Maximum Allowable Working Pressure (MAWP) shall be 100 barg. Much later, when you have purchased a vessel for function place V-101 in your plant and installed that vessel, ...

Re: Modelling Property Ranges in Part7 and Part8
Hi Victor, when I want to properly define that instance I'll record proper specialization in RDL [HT] Yep, and that is why we need to discuss the Part 8 Template Model, because in Part 8 a template is and is not a class, and hence can or cannot be specialized. I have written a paper for that topic a...

Re: Modelling Property Ranges in Part7 and Part8
Hi Victor,
You can declare an instance of ClassOfIndirectProperty and give it an ID and a definition in a language, but when you want to properly define that instance, you need this template, lock, stock and barrel.
Regards,
Hans

Hi Keith, All six cases are about ClassOfIndirectProperty.
